Our high quality wax chips melt smoothly and completely at 160 - 180°F.-With the dye flakes, you no longer have to worry about spilling or pouring too much dye like liquid candle dyes.Customize and mix new colors and shades by smashing and mixing different dye chips!-Frequent questions: How do you get the wicks to stick to the bottom?-You can add some wax or tape to the bottom of the wick to make it stick properly to the container. At what temperature should I add my wax and dyes?-180°F degrees is the best temperature for adding wax and dyes, once fully mixed lower to 150°F before pouring. **Note: When adding flavors and colorants to your candles, keep in mind that a high ratio of flavors/colorants in the wax can influence burning efficiency, creating smoke and reducing the candles ability to stay lit. What is the ideal fragrance load for XmL?-The amount of fragrance you will use in your candles will depend on 3 factors:-1:The strength of the aroma-2: The type of wax-3: The flash point of the fragrance oil (when it evaporates).-When calculating fragrance load, it should be determined by weight, not volume.-For example, if you are making a 16 oz. candle with a wax that has a maximum fragrance load of 10%, you can add up to 1.6 oz. (16 oz. * 10% = 1.6 oz.) of fragrance for that particular wax. What will happen if too much fragrance is added? While it is possible to add more fragrance than recommended by the manufacturer, this can cause poor burning characteristics and/or the fragrance to “leak” from the candle creating the appearance of sweating. At what temperature should I add the fragrance oil?Typically with 100% natural waxes you want to melt the candle wax at 185 degrees and then add your fragrance oil at 175-185. This ensures that the oil mixes well with the wax. If you add it when it's too cold, it won't mix into the wax very well.-Make unique and vibrant candles. It only takes 0.5-1.6 grams of dye to fully color 1 pound of candle wax.-This amount is enough to give the candles bright and vivid colors.-Depending on the type of wax, the colors may have a different finish.-Measure the amount of candle wax dye you need and set aside.-Heat your choice of raw wax to the required temperature-Once the temperature reaches 160-180 degrees F, add the dye chips and stir evenly.-Stir well for 2-3 minutes to disperse properly
